Update your card or download an invoice

For managersUpdated 2 min read

On the Billing page, the owner opens Stripe's billing portal to change the card, update billing details, and download invoices and receipts.

Your card, billing details and invoice history are kept by Stripe, Shift Amp's payment provider. An organization owner reaches them from the Billing page, once billing has been set up. Shift Amp never sees or stores your card details.

Update your card or billing details

  1. Open the account menu at the bottom of the left menu (your name), select Settings, then select Billing.
  2. Select Manage payment method and invoices. Stripe's billing portal opens.
  3. Update your card or billing details.
  4. Use the portal's link back to Shift Amp to return to the Billing page.

You'll find Manage payment method and invoices once billing has been set up, including during the free trial. On the free plan, there's no card to manage.

If a payment has failed, the Billing page says "There’s a problem with your payment" instead. Select Update payment method there. See Fix a failed payment.

See your invoices

On the Billing page, Invoices lists your most recent invoices, up to 12, newest first. Each row shows the Invoice number, the date it was Issued, the Period it covers, the Members billed, the Total and the Status. Status reads Paid, Due, Not yet issued, Voided or Unpaid.

Before your first bill, the list says there are no invoices yet. The free plan never generates one. Once billing is set up, your first invoice appears when the current billing period ends.

Download an invoice

  1. Under Invoices, select Download invoices and receipts. Stripe's billing portal opens.
  2. Find the invoice. Each one has a PDF and a receipt. Older invoices are there too.

If Stripe doesn't load

  • If the page says "We couldn’t load your invoices", Stripe didn't answer. Nothing about your plan or your payments has changed. Select Open the billing portal, which reaches the same history another way.
  • If the page says "We couldn’t open your billing portal", nothing has changed and you haven't been charged. Select Try again. If it keeps happening, contact Shift Amp support.

To change or cancel your plan, see Cancel or change your plan.
