Set your kiosk PIN

For staffUpdated 1 min read

In the app, go to More, then Settings, then Kiosk PIN, and save a 4- to 6-digit PIN. A new PIN replaces your old one straight away.

A kiosk PIN is the number you enter to clock in at a shared time-clock tablet at work. You choose it yourself in the Shift Amp app. It's 4 to 6 digits, works only at your workplace's kiosk, and is separate from your account password. An owner or operations administrator can also set one for you.

Set or change your PIN

  1. Select the More tab (three dots).
  2. Select Settings, then Kiosk PIN.
  3. Enter a PIN of 4 to 6 digits.
  4. Enter the same PIN again in the box below it.
  5. Select Save PIN.

The app shows "Your kiosk PIN is set. It takes effect immediately at your workplace’s kiosk." To use it, see Clock in at a shared kiosk.

To change your PIN, follow the same steps. The new PIN replaces the old one at once. The app never shows your current PIN, or whether you already have one, so if you've forgotten yours, set a new one.

If your PIN isn't saved

  • "That PIN is taken — choose a different one." Each PIN at your workplace belongs to one person, so choose another.
  • "The PINs don't match — enter the same PIN twice."
  • "PINs are 4 to 6 digits."

If you don't use the app

You can set your own PIN only in the app, not on the web. If you don't have the app, ask an owner or operations administrator to set a PIN for you, and to tell you what it is in person. To get the app, see Get the app and sign in.
