Find your way around the app
The app has five tabs along the bottom, shown as icons: Today, Schedule, Messages, Notifications and More. Sign out from the More tab.
The Shift Amp app has five tabs along the bottom of the screen. They show icons only, with no names, so here's what each one is. Anything that isn't a tab, including Settings and Sign out, is under the More tab (three dots).
The five tabs
From left to right:
- Today (the house icon) opens when you sign in. It shows your next shift and the way into the time clock.
- Schedule (the calendar icon) lists your published shifts. Everything you can do with a shift starts here. See See your schedule.
- Messages (the speech-bubble icon) holds your channels, direct messages and groups. If your workplace has turned messaging off, this tab isn't there and you see four tabs.
- Notifications (the bell) keeps every notification you've been sent. See Choose your notifications in the app.
- More has everything else.
A number on the Messages or Notifications icon shows how many unread items are waiting.
What Today shows
- The Next shift card, with the date and time of your next shift and its position and location. A shift that's under way stays here until it ends.
- Time clock, the only way into the time clock. While you're clocked in, it reads Time clock · clocked in. See Clock in and out on your phone.
- Schedule changes, for shifts your manager added, moved or removed after the week was published. See See what changed in your schedule.
- Open shifts, for shifts you could pick up. It isn't shown if your workplace doesn't let employees claim shifts.
The Next shift card doesn't open. For a shift's details and options, use the Schedule tab. To refresh Today, pull down on the screen.
What's under More
- Shift coverage and swaps: Available shifts, My claims, My swaps and My offers.
- Requests: Manage availability and Request time off.
- Your workplace: Team schedule, Wiki and Coworkers. A number beside Wiki shows how many pages are waiting for you to confirm you've read them.
- Your account: Settings, Switch organization and Sign out. Switch organization appears only if you work for more than one business. See Work for more than one business.
A row is missing if your workplace has turned that feature off. A few things live elsewhere: Schedule changes and Time clock are on Today, and the calendar icon at the top right of the Schedule tab opens Calendar sync.
Sign out
- Select the More tab (three dots).
- Select Sign out.
- Select Sign out again to confirm.
If you saved punches while you had no signal, the dialog says they haven't synced yet. Select Sync now, and you're signed out once they've synced. Saved punches sync only while you're signed in on that phone, and a saved punch more than 24 hours old can't be recorded.
Signing out also stops push notifications to that phone until you sign in again. If you lose your phone, see Sign out on every device.
