Choose your notifications in the app
Turn on push notifications on your phone, then choose which updates reach you and how. Every notification is also kept on the Notifications tab.
The app can send push notifications to your phone when a schedule is published, a request is decided, or a shift you could pick up opens. Turn them on once on each phone, then choose which updates reach you, by push or by email. Whatever you choose, every notification is kept on the Notifications tab (the bell).
Turn on push notifications
- On the Today tab (the house icon), find the Know when your schedule changes card and select Enable notifications.
- When your phone asks, allow notifications.
If that card isn't on Today, select the More tab (three dots), then Settings, then Notifications. Under This device, select Enable notifications. When push is on, it says "Push notifications are enabled on this device."
If This device says notifications are turned off in your device settings, select Device settings and allow notifications for Shift Amp there.
Choose what reaches you
- Select the More tab, then Settings, then Notifications. Or select Notification settings at the bottom of the Notifications tab.
- Turn switches on or off. Each change saves straight away.
- How we reach you: Push notifications and Email notifications turn each channel on or off. Email is used when you have no push set up on any device. Under Email frequency, you can bundle routine email into an Hourly digest or a Daily digest.
- What you hear about: a push switch and an email switch for each kind of update: schedule, availability, time off, shift coverage and time clock. For example, turning off Shift coverage push stops pushes about swaps, claims and shifts you could pick up.
- Messages: turn Message push off, or choose whether channels push Every message or Only when I'm mentioned. Messages are never emailed.
Your choices apply only to the organization you're working in. If you work for more than one business, set them in each.
Set shift reminders
Unless you change it, you get one push reminder 2 hours before each shift. To change it, go to Shift reminders on the same screen:
- Choose a different time for Reminder 1, or select Add a reminder to have up to three.
- Under How it arrives, choose Push or Email for each reminder.
- To stop push reminders, turn off Remind me before a shift.
See Get reminders before your shifts.
Find past notifications
Select the Notifications tab (the bell). Unread notifications are marked Unread. Select one to mark it read and, for most, open the screen it's about. To clear the count, select Mark all as read. At the bottom, select Load older to see further back. Your history goes back one year.
