Confirm or decline a shift
If your workplace asks you to confirm shifts, each upcoming shift on the Schedule tab asks whether you'll be there. Declining doesn't take you off it.
Some workplaces ask everyone to confirm each shift they're given. If yours does, every upcoming shift on the Schedule tab (the calendar icon) asks for your answer. Declining tells your manager you can't work it, but the shift stays yours until they reassign it.
Confirm a shift
- Select the Schedule tab (the calendar icon).
- Find the shift. Its card says "Your manager asks everyone to confirm their shifts."
- Select Yes, I’ll be there.
The card now says "You confirmed this shift." Your manager sees your answer on the schedule. Confirming doesn't send them a notification.
Decline a shift
- On the Schedule tab, find the shift and select I can’t work it.
- If you like, say why in the box that appears. It's optional.
- Select Send.
The card now says "You told your manager you can’t work this. It’s still on your schedule until they reassign it — check back, or ask them." Your managers get a notification that you can't work the shift. The notification doesn't include your reason, so if the reason matters, tell your manager yourself too.
If you want someone else to take the shift, you can also ask for coverage. See Ask someone to cover your shift.
Change your answer
You can change your answer until the shift starts. Your manager sees your latest answer on the schedule.
- If you confirmed, select I can’t work it to decline instead.
- If you declined, select Actually, I can work it.
Once a shift has started, its card no longer asks for an answer.
If your shifts don't ask for an answer
Your workplace doesn't ask employees to confirm shifts, so there's nothing to do: the shifts on your schedule are yours.
If the Schedule tab says it couldn't load which shifts still need your answer, pull down on the list to try again.
To hand a shift to a particular coworker instead, see Swap a shift with a coworker or Offer your shift to a coworker.
